L“climate skepticism” is one of those labels stuck in an exclusively derogatory manner. By good guys over bad guys. At the beginning, this notion tended to designate people paid by lobbies – oil, gas, coal – to voluntarily sow doubt about the role of fossil fuels in climate disruption. Then, it targeted researchers putting forward very minority arguments and judged as invalid on climate science. Then we saw “climate scepticism” point to those who did not question global warming, but who discussed the weight of human fault in this phenomenon.

And the term never stops spreading all over the place. Today, those who challenge this or that are designated as “climate skeptics”.
