Highly anticipated, the Google Pixel 6 has the difficult task of succeeding excellent photophones. A complicated, but nevertheless successful, bet for a smartphone well helped by Google’s new in-house processor, the Tensor.

Once again, Google demonstrates its complete mastery in mobile photography. Unfortunately, this does not make the Pixel 6 a perfect smartphone, mainly because of its Oled panel that is not quite up to the competition, or its limited autonomy and its charging that is far too slow for high-end products. Despite this, thanks to its power and the overall experience it offers, it undoubtedly remains one of the best smartphones on the market.
Points forts
- Original design and exemplary finishes.
- Good Oled display.
- Surprisingly powerful homemade SoC.
- Best camera phone on the market.
- Good autonomy (but behind the competition).
- 5G and IP68.
Weak points
- Google Tensor heating.
- Slow charging.
- Absence of a charging block.
NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude the prices of stores whose the VAT policy is not clear (so-called “gray” stores, typically in the case of imports from China).

Google’s Pixel 6a doesn’t stand out compared to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. This smartphone, which constitutes the “affordable” version, convinces with undeniable advantages: good quality screen, more than satisfactory performance and very controlled photo aspect. It also has the merit of being IP67 certified, borrowing this characteristic from high-end terminals. What’s missing is a little faster charging, higher screen brightness and a more generous refresh rate. But at its launch price, few – if not any smartphone – have managed to do as well to date, with the essential guarantee of ensuring long-term software monitoring.
