After the Peugeot e-208, the brand’s city car, it’s the turn of the 308 presented in September 2022 to be completely electrified. If the small lion sedan had already taken the step of hybridization, an electric version was expected. While its price is still unknown in France, Peugeot’s Spanish site already displays the new e-308 in a new First Edition finish at €44,400, which gives an idea of its price when it arrives in our lands.

At this price, the First Edition is based on the manufacturer’s high-end GT Line finish. We are thus entitled to a single white color, 18-inch Electra rims, Alcantara upholstery and a three-phase AC 22 kW charging cable. In addition, the amount of the monthly payments in LOA amounts to €356.03 after an initial rent of €11,110 for a period of 48 months/40,000 kilometres. In the case of a cash payment, it will be necessary to pay a deposit of 500 €. Deliveries are scheduled for September 2023.
A spec sheet far from Tesla
The price of 44,400 € in this high-end finish is in the market average, directly rubbing shoulders with competitors such as the Mégane E-Tech or the Cupra Born, and should be around 40,000 € for the more entry-level versions. of range. But faced with a Tesla Model 3 displayed at 41,990 €, the French compact will have a hard time seducing, in particular because of its technical sheet.
Inside the Peugeot e-308, the new 156 horsepower engine is associated with a 54 kWh 400 V NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) battery. We learn on the Peugeot website that the little e-308 promises up to 410 km of autonomy according to the WLTP cycle, for an average consumption of 15.1 kWh / 100 km, contrary to the 12.1 kWh announced during its presentation. The French does not catch up with its charging power limited to 100 kW, the Mégane E-Tech displaying 130 kW.
With such a technical sheet, Peugeot will not turn heads. However, it is pleasing to see a manufacturer offering a battery of limited size, which will reduce the ecological impact of the car, especially when faced with models displaying more than 70 or 80 kWh of capacity. However, faced with so much French pragmatism, we find ourselves dreaming of a more muscular e-308 PSE (Peugeot Sport Engineered) for lovers of sportsmanship…
